Global supply chain provider expands into the Commonwealth with a planned $80+ million investment and around 1,000 new jobs
HENRICO, VA – ID Logistics Warehousing, LLC, an industry leader in supply chain management, has established its first presence in the Commonwealth with a 582,000-square-foot distribution facility in eastern Henrico. The estimated $83 million investment is expected to create approximately 1,000 new jobs.
The company will operate out of developer Ashley Capital’s recently completed I-895 Logistics Center building at 7011 S. Laburnum Avenue. At this location, ID Logistics is expected to manage complex, regulated inventory and fulfillment processes for high-demand retail and direct-to-consumer household essentials, such as cleaning and beauty products. They anticipate this large-scale distribution center will bring a wide range of career opportunities to the area’s workforce.
“ID Logistics is very pleased to be opening our newest facility in Henrico, Virginia,” said Franck Bouny, Deputy Chief Operations Officer, ID Logistics US. “You’re in great hands under the leadership of Omar Bin Ferdous, Director of Operations, and Jonathan Jackson, VP of Operations, who will lead the site to great things. I look forward to partnering with local leadership and your community as a whole to bring fantastic local talent into the ID Logistics family.”
The major investment by ID Logistics highlights Henrico’s strategic location on the East Coast and its multi-modal infrastructure, including direct access to the region’s major interstate corridors, commercial aviation resources at Richmond International Airport, and Virginia’s deepwater marine terminals. These assets, paired with available skilled talent and a supportive business climate, make the locality a practical choice for international firms expanding their footprints.
“It is a pleasure to welcome ID Logistics to Henrico as they establish their first Virginia operation,” said Varina Magisterial District Supervisor Tyrone E. Nelson. “An investment of this scale speaks volumes about the strength of our community and the depth of our local talent. These 1,000 new jobs will not only create direct career pathways for our residents but also help families across the region get the everyday household essentials they need faster. We wish the ID Logistics team great success as they launch this new facility.”
“The decision to locate in Henrico County reinforces the value of Virginia’s port-centric logistics model. Our terminals, coupled with world-class inland connectivity and distribution assets, enable companies like ID Logistics to move cargo to market with speed, efficiency, and reliability,” said Sarah J. McCoy, CEO and Executive Director of the Virginia Port Authority.
With the addition of its Henrico facility, ID Logistics US has expanded its national network to 56 sites across 20 states. For more information about the company and its services, visit www.id-logistics.com/us/.
