Anthony J. Romanello

Anthony J. Romanello
Executive Director
Anthony Romanello has served Virginia local governments since 1992. He was Assistant to the City Manager in Richmond, Town Manager of West Point, County Administrator and Deputy County Administrator of Stafford, and Deputy County Manager in Henrico. In March of 2019, Anthony was appointed Executive Director of the Henrico Economic Development Authority.
Anthony graduated from Hermitage High School in Henrico. He has a Bachelor of Arts in History and American Government with a Minor in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia and a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a credentialed manager through the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
Anthony is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in State & Local Government, the University of Virginia’s Senior Executive Institute, and Leadership Metro Richmond. He is an adjunct instructor in Virginia Tech’s Center for Public Administration.
Anthony is an Eagle Scout and in 2015 was recognized by the National Eagle Scout Association as an Outstanding Eagle Scout.
He is the author of Random Thoughts: Reflections on Public Service, Fatherhood, and Middle Age and the children’s book The Girl Who Lived on the Third Floor.
Anthony and his wife Diane live in Glen Allen, Virginia. They have five children, two daughters-in-law, and two granddaughters. Every chance he has, Anthony plays very bad ping pong and even worse golf.

Ashley joined the EDA in 2021 and has worked for Henrico County for over ten years. Her responsibilities include finance, human resources, and strategic planning. She has a B.A. from JMU, an M.P.A. from VCU, and is a SHRM-CP.

Ebonie joined the Henrico EDA in 2020 and has since been instrumental in planning and directing business retention activities, including outreach to Henrico businesses and managing expansion projects for existing companies. Throughout her 12-year career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the community in the public sector. Prior to joining the EDA, she served as the Business Investment Manager for VEDP, where she worked directly with C-Suite executives of tech companies to support their relocation and expansion in Virginia.

Andrew Larsen

Andrew joined the Henrico EDA in 2022 and focuses on supporting local businesses in their growth while helping new businesses establish operations in Henrico. He is deeply passionate about fostering economic growth through new capital investments and job creation. Before joining the EDA, Andrew served as a Business Investment Manager at the VEDP, where he worked closely with C-suite executives and site selection consultants to attract and expand business investments across the Commonwealth. During his time at VEDP, he helped secure more than 50 projects in Virginia, resulting in over $1.8 billion in capital investments and the creation of more than 6,900 new jobs.

Wendy joined Henrico EDA in 2014 and has since held multiple roles within the organization. She currently serves as Managing Director, focusing on marketing and project management. Throughout her time with Henrico, Wendy has contributed to various initiatives that support economic development and community growth. Prior to joining Henrico, she held roles in human resources and finance, bringing a diverse range of experience in operational management.

Sharon joined Henrico EDA in 2024. In her current role, she supports entrepreneurs and small businesses by sharing resources and coordinating program events. Prior to joining the EDA, Sharon served as the Capital Access Manager for the Metropolitan Business League and has 35 years of banking experience.

Lane joined Henrico EDA in 2025. In her role, she manages a wide range of administrative and financial processes supporting the organizations day-to-day operations and long-term projects. Prior to joining the EDA, Lane worked as a program specialist at VCU’s School of Medicine and as a program support technician at The Faison Center. Lane is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

Linda joined the EDA in 2022 as the Business Assistant. Now in the role of Business Manager, she coordinates the Business First volunteer team, assists with retention and expansion efforts for existing Henrico companies, and plans special business events.

Jason joined the Henrico EDA in 2024, bringing over 20 years of experience in community and economic development. He previously served as Director of Business Development and Talent Solutions at Virginia’s Gateway Region and held multiple leadership roles at the VEDP, managing programs such as VJIP and Virginia’s Economic Gardening initiative. Jason also spent 15 years in leadership positions across city and county governments in Virginia. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from James Madison University and is passionate about continuous learning, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting economic growth in Henrico.

Devon joined the Henrico EDA in 2023 and brings her expertise in GIS and research to support economic growth in the region. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from VCU. Devon applies her innovative GIS skills and passion for research to help drive Henrico’s economic development initiatives. Prior to Henrico EDA, she spent five years as a GIS Analyst at Stantec, working on Dominion Energy’s Strategic Underground Program.

In 2024, Holly became the Marketing and Communications Manager for the Henrico Economic Development Authority, where she develops and implements strategies to highlight Henrico’s strengths as the Home of the the Extra Mile – a community where businesses and talent both thrive. Prior to joining the EDA, Holly spent nearly 15 years in Henrico County government, first supporting the Planning Department and, later, the Henrico County Manager’s Office through key projects, special events, and presentations, while also managing budgets and managing interns.
