Dominion Energy powers Henrico businesses with a 99.972% reliability rate (excluding major storms) and has offered special economic development rates and terms to industrial users for 18 years. Dominion also provides a cost-effective approach to reducing environmental impacts through its Green Power programs sourcing sustainable, renewable energy for commercial and residential customers.

Water

Henrico delivers reliable, high-capacity water infrastructure to meet today’s demands and tomorrow’s growth. With a systemwide capacity of 115 million gallons per day, Henrico can support large-scale industrial operations and expanding businesses. To ensure long-term water supply, the county constructed the 14.8-billion-gallon Virgil R. Hazelett Reservoir at Cobbs Creek. This forward-looking investment supplements the James River during drought conditions, helping preserve a sustainable water source while protecting aquatic ecosystems upstream from Henrico’s main intake.

Sewer

Henrico maintains a high-capacity sewer system designed to support businesses and safeguard the environment. The county’s infrastructure includes more than 1,400 miles of sewer piping, over 30 water and wastewater pumping stations, and a modern wastewater treatment facility. With a systemwide capacity of 75 million gallons per day, Henrico is built to handle the demands of a diverse and growing business community.

Natural Gas

Henrico businesses benefit from a high-capacity natural gas supply with up to 120 psi provided by Richmond Gas Works. With no utility tax imposed by Henrico, companies can optimize operations while reducing costs.

QTS Richmond Network Access Point (NAP)

The Richmond NAP is a globally unique hub where four major subsea cables converge with extensive terrestrial fiber networks. It offers direct access to Google’s Dunant cable, delivering 250 Tbps of bandwidth – enough to transmit the entire digitized Library of Congress three times per second.

DE-CIX Richmond Internet Exchange

RVA-IX integration with DE-CIX interconnection hubs in Chicago, New York, Dallas, Houston, and Phoenix—forms the largest neutral interconnection ecosystem in North America. This connection provides near-instant access to over 2,100 networks and 500 data centers worldwide through DE-CIX, the leading global IX operator. When connected, local businesses benefit from lower cross-connect costs, faster access to multiple networks, and reliable, high-performance peering connectivity.
