August 28, 2024 Richmond, VA - Henrico’s debut entry in the 2024 Excellence in Economic Development Awards program earned a remarkable four awards with two nominations for “Best in Show” from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). IEDC’s annual Excellence Awards honor the economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that have demonstrated consistent, exemplary performance in the profession.
Henrico will be acknowledged and honored this September, at the IEDC 2024 Annual Conference in Denver, CO, for the following winning projects:
Gold Awards:
- Real Estate Development & Reuse: Regency Mall Makes a Splash
- Public-Private Partnership: Diving Into a Great Partnership at Regency Mall
Silver Awards:
- Innovative Economic Development: Henrico Pop-Up Mentoring Program (PUMP)

In addition, Henrico Economic Development Authority has two projects in the running for this year’s Best in Show Award, which is the highest accolade given within the 2024 Excellence in Economic Development Awards program. Judges handpicked 14 projects out of nearly 500 as the best of the best in economic development across all categories and population sizes of this awards program.
